Skills & Knowledge
This Nationally Recognised first aid course will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to effectively provide first aid for a range of injuries and illnesses specific to the childcare industry. This course meets qualification requirements (First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis) under the national children services law.
There are no pre-requisites for this course; however students must have sufficient English language and visual interpretation skills to successfully complete the first aid training. Participants will also be required to undertake practical training and assessments at floor level. This includes demonstrating CPR on a manikin for a period of two minutes. If you have poor mobility or a current injury please discuss this with us prior to booking. Participants under the age of 18 are required to provide a consent form completed by their legal guardian.
Requirements for Completion
Participants must attend 100% of this first aid training and undertake all assessments to a satisfactory level. Multiple choice questions, short written answers and practical activities are used for the assessment of this course.
Certification and Course Validity
Following the successful completion of training and assessment activities, participants are issued a Nationally Accredited Statement of Attainment in Provide an Emergency First Aid Response in an Education and Care Setting HLTAID004 and Provide CPR HLTAID001.
Certification is valid for three (3) years from date of issue. CPR refresher training should be undertaken annually as per Australian Resuscitation Council recommendations and the workplace first aid code of practice. Our comprehensive student management system will remind you a month before your certificate is due to be refreshed.
